Add a managed property in refinment panel

Hi All,

I am new to SharePoint 2013. I wanted to add a managed property in the refinement panel web part. Am not able to figure out the steps for 2013. In 2010 we used to edit xml. Below are the details:

I have a term set say Department in central admin MMS and mapped to one site column named department and attached to a document library and added documents by attaching the tag values. Later I crawled the site collection and created managed property by adding mapping to the site column ows_department. Did an index reset and full crawled. If I go back my search results page and try to add this managed property, but I am not able to find my managed properties.

Please help with me the process involved in 2013.
