Recently We have noticed that some of the users were not getting the Email notifications for the SPD workflows.
"The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly."
this was the error that recorded to Workflow history Table. after we added the Web application server IPs to exchange relay allowed list issue was resolved.
but now the problem is SharePoint was periodically retrying to send the failed email notifications for the old workflows until we add the Web app server IPs to Exchange Relay. its has send task overdue notifications for the already completed workflows as well.
1. Is there any timer job that retrying the failed mails? if yes what us the default schedule?
2. will it send, failed "Task Overdue" notifications for completed workflows as well? if yes can we stop that?
