Get List ID in a feature receiver from List provisioned with the feature?

I've got a feature the provisions a list template and an instance of the list.

In the feature receiver I need to perform some actions on the list after it's up - how can I get a handle on it? I tried setting the ID in the Instance elements.xml file, but that doesn't really seem to be reliable.
