We have a list which contains 9000 rows and we're having custom page with some operation. We tried to query the list through REST API and we got threshold Limit error and not able to get the record. Our great admin didn't allowed us to increase the default value of 5000 which is recommended by Microsoft. Even they're not ready to scale up the server to increase the performance and increase the limit. Next, what would be the alternative solution? When I query the same list with ID column, I'm able to get it. So, if we create the index column we can do query operation. So, I created my single of text column with index, and again I tried, the same shit happened. Any one tell me how to query the list with more than 5000 records without increasing the default limit?
Also, I'd like to say that some of the sharepoint applications are not pushed into next level because of this limit. And we've stopped the development and shut down some applications as well. I need some guidance to overcome this issue.
