How is Blog List View rendered?

I am trying to understand how blog "Posts" list is rendered nicely in the various styles without using XSL? I tried searching through Site Templates for blog site and also all the related features but couldn't find anything useful. Only thing I noticed was this snippet in \15\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\BlogHomePage\Elements.xml

<View List="$Resources:core,lists_Folder;/$Resources:core,blogpost_Folder;" BaseViewID="0" WebPartZoneID="Left" WebPartOrder="1"><![CDATA[<webParts><webPart xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v3"><metaData><type name="Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.XsltListViewWebPart,Microsoft.SharePoint,Version=15.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" /><importErrorMessage>Cannot import this Web Part.</importErrorMessage></metaData><data><properties><property name="AllowConnect" type="bool">True</property><property name="ChromeType" type="chrometype">None</property><property name="AllowClose" type="bool">False</property></properties></data></webPart></webParts>
                    ]]></View>

How does this alone format the blog? I do not see any reference to XSLT stylesheet, how is it possible?
