Need to query a list on the host level site for timer job

Hi,

I am not able to Query a list the top level site (host server). the data is going to be run by a timer job. For some reason the code cannpt find the list.

The site is something like: http://servernamer:5050

I need to access a list on this site and get list items to send email notifications. A timer job is executing the code.

Any advice is appreciated.
