We are recently facing issue in Userprofile Sync Service issue. We are not able to START this service. when we start this service from from CA it always says "starting" but never start or provisioned. we have below topology .
Web front end server - WS01 Server
Application server - AS01 server.
SQl 2016 Server - SQLSP server.
We are running the User profile service in WFE server and planning start the UPS sync service in Application Server. We are not sure is this the right server to start the UPS sync service. Can any one tel us which services (UPS and UPS sync) should run in which servers ( WFE/APP).
We have tried multiple open source blog / forums and msdn as well. nothing worked out. Below are the steps we followed.
1. Tried to stop the service by using power shell commands ( it get stopped but not able to start)
2. we cleared the cache in both WFE and APP server and restarted the Timer service . then tried to start the service using poweshell but no luck.
3.we tried to unprovisioned/provisioned using powershell . ( unprovisoned is working but provisioned is not working . it struck at Starting state)
4. we tried to restart the FIM sync service still we are facing same issue.
Please any one can help to resolve the issue.
