Editing NewForm.aspx

Following on from my previous thread:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointdevelopment/thread/4b43cae0-c505-48bd-a9e1-50152bb512e4

I am now in the process of creating new NewForm.aspx forms and editing them to add headings and comments etc.  And having discovered that I need to manually add any new columns within the code, this seems to be working (although seems very long-winded).

I am now finding that if I add a column such as a date or people picker I only get a text box.

However, I did find that if I deleted my new NewForm and then create another one with a different name I got the correct date field.   Surely, I shouldn't need to do this every time I add a new column in Sharepoint just to get the correct type of fields on my form!  Or was this just a coincidence?  Is there something that needs to be refreshed to see the changes I make?  I must be missing something here.

I hope you can help.

Thanks
Julie
