Content DB size increasing- Issue

Hello,

We have Hostname Site Collection "it.sp.company.com" under webapp "http:SPA1"

ex- it.sp.company.com Stored in a Content DB called "WSS_Content_IT"

Now this Content DB is increasing in Size (100GB)

is there a way to add another or few more new Content DB ("WSS_Content_IT2")  and make SharePoint use that new DB to store Data of it.sp.company.com going forward? 

so the new site and content get stored in the new DB without adding more data in the existing DB?

How do I avoid the DB size increasing issue in this case where I don't want do deleted Data out of it.
