I have inherited a system that someone else developed. They have left my organisation now. Anyway when I tried to modify the views for the Pages list in the site I get this error when clicking on OK in the modify view screen:
The file is currently checked out or locked for editing by another user.
How can a view be checked out/in or locked/unlocked? I need to edit the views but none of them will let me due to this error. As far as I can tell, there is no option in SharePoint designer or the web UI to lock a view so it can't be modified, or to check out a view.
