Gantt Chart component for SharePoint 2013 Calendar

Hi,

We would like to build gantt chart component for SharePoint 2013 calendar to support color coding and filtering ability, as we could not find a way to achieve this with OOB gantt view. Found how to article on MSDN which is using JSGrid control for SharePoint 2010: How to: Create a Gantt Chart Using the JS Grid Control.

Can the same be achieved from client side inside a SharePoint App.

Any pointers on this will be of great help.
