Hi
I wrote a custom service application and when I created an instance I saw under permissions it had "Local Farm" user/group.
I removed it and I got access denied error message in ULS log (I logged it via custom code). I see Local farm being present in most of the service application instances.
What is local farm account and Is it absolutely required?
Only way I as able to add local farm account is by using method mentioned in http://sharepoint-community.net/profiles/blogs/how-to-add-local-farm-to-permissions-on-search-service
