Always showing "Today" on a timeline.

I have looked through countless forums but have not found an answer to our problem. We have a timeline with reporting deadlines and other events that span numerous days.  The Today label only shows when it falls between these events that span a few days.  It does not show the Today label when it doesn't fall during one of these multi day events.  We have reporting deadlines that fall on just one day but I'd need to show the Today line so people can tell on this gantt bar how far away in relation that report due date is from today.  For example, we just finished up an event that spanned a few weeks.  We have no other multi event days for a while but we do have quarterly reporting due.  At the front of our timeline is this next reporting deadline that is in about two weeks. I need to be able to show the Today label with a gap between today and that next deadline in 2 weeks.  It is difficult to visually see how soon the next reporting deadline is when you can't see the day you're in now compared to the next deadline that's two weeks out when that reporting deadline sits at the very beginning of the timeline.

In the end, what I'm trying to figure out is how to always display that Today label.  As it is, it only shows when it displays when it falls within an entry that spans multiple days.

Thank you and I gratefully appreciate anyone that can assist.

-Aaron
