Seattle Master missing Site Actions control

I'm trying to edit my custom master page, copied from the seattle.master, to hide the Site Actions from non-admin users, like here: http://danssharepointblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-to-hide-site-actions-or-any-control.html

What's perplexing to me is I can find no reference in the file to "MenuItemTemplate "or "ms-siteactionsmenu"or "siteactiontd"

Anyone know what code do I need to add (and where) to either the seattle.html or theseattle.master to either hide or security trim the Site Actions gear button?
