Upload image with Exif data or correct orientation via JavaScript

Hi all,

I am uploading images to a SharePoint Image Library and it works well, except from an iPhone where the orientation is displayed either sideways or upside down. Please see here for details:

Does anyone know how, using the code I am using for uploading, I can send the image with the proper orientation, or another method to correct the orientation of the image? This has been beyond frustrating...
