What is the best way to create a copy of list

Hi All,

I have requirement where I need to create a copy of a list in the same SPWeb, I am trying to it with SPExport and SPImport functions, but using them I cannot do in the same web.

I want to know what is the best way to achieve this keeping in mind that the list may have Item level security as well as versions on the items.

I have also tried doing that I first Move the list to the new url and then do a SPExport and SPImport but unfortunately this also did not work.

Any idea what will be the best way to do it.
