Custom login page for sharepoint with ADFS

Hi ,

I have followed the steps in http://blog.helloitsliam.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=76 and set up custom login for ADFS in sp2013 instead of the default ADFS login page. Now,

1. scenario 1 : A user logs into default ADFS login page for the first time and authenticates himself. After that, uses my custom login ADFS page - WORKS!

2. scenario2 : A user DOESN'T log into the default ADFS login page and directly tries to login to my custom login page - FAILS with ID3242 - security token could not be authenticated or authorized

Can anyone help with this as to why scenario 2 fails???
