SharePoint Rest API return does not return JSON

Hi,

I have something strange on one of my site collection. On my Master Page, I have a call to SharePoint REST API to get the page last modification date.  The same script is working correctly on one site collection but not on the 2nd site.  The ajax calls didn't return JSON.  The debugger shown below.  Any advice?  Thanks!
