SharePoint 2013 List Template With Custom List View and Item View (WebPart Embedded)

Hi All,

I know we can use Visual Studio to create a project for a List Template.

The list template comes OOTB with:

• List View - All Items 
• Item View - Create, Edit and Display Form View

So...

Can we also customize the List Template with Custom List View & Item Form View?

Such as customize the list view like Task List All Items List View with a Time Line show at the top.

If not, how can I achieve the goal?

OR, we have to do it manually?

1. Create a List Template

2. Create a Visual Web Part

3. Deploy to SharePoint

4. Add a Site Page and Add the Visual Web Part to connect to the List Instance to do this?
