Redirect to display form after creating new item

Hi all,

I need to redirect users to the display form after they create an item. Both should be in modals.

I referenced this article:

but it fails at:

var oldPostbackUrl = aspForm.get(0).action

Any ideas on how I can get my expected behavior by using JavaScript/jQuery?
