How does the SharePoint task list checkbox works (Completed & Task Name event)?

Hi All,

I have a requirement like the way task list checkbox(Completed & Task name) works. Which needs to be implemented in a Custom List. 

Users will check/uncheck the list items in a list view and change the item color. On Page refresh the checkbox should be checked/unchecked.

Any suggestions/pointers to implement this.
