JQuery is not functioning properly in Content Editor Web Part

Hi

   i tried with CEWP and javascript with working properly but JQuery is not working and i tried to add jquery reference through file path and in the code also. I am not understanding like where i have done mistake like while adding reference or i need to follow any standard procedure to add JQuery code to CWEP. Kindly give me some guidance.
